Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Franchot Tone, Fred Astaire and the Three Stooges star in this musical romantic comedy about two strong-willed men who will do anything to win the heart of a Dancing Lady. Down on her luck, Janie Barlow (Academy Award winner Crawford--The Women, Humoresque) resorts to dancing in a burlesque show where she is seen by--and instantly wins the heart of--slumming millionaire playboy Tod Newton (Tone--Bombshell, The Lives of a Bengal Dancer). Before Newton can ask her out, Barlow is arrested in a police raid, but even when Newton posts her bail, Barlow refuses to live as his mistress. In an attempt to win her, Newton gets Barlow an audition with doubting Broadway producer Patch Gallagher (Academy Award winner Gable--Gone with the Wind).
